Its optics are optimized for use with Nikon digital SLRs, and it is ideally suited to the new Nikon D50. The compact zoom lens offers powerful zoom performance of 55-200mm (providing a picture angle equivalent to an 82.5-300mm lens in 35mm format) and is suitable for everything from candid portraits to sports, nature and wildlife photography. The newly developed compact SWM (Silent Wave Motor) has given rise to an ultracompact, lightweight design with excellent handling characteristics.
